Taiwan Investment in Xiamen One-Tenth of Total in Mainland
Taiwan's accumulated investment in Xiamen, a coastal city in eastern China, has taken up approximately one-tenth of its total investment in the mainland, Xiamen's vice-mayor Su Shuli said Tuesday.
Su told a press conference of the ongoing Fourth China Fair forInternational Investment and Trade on April 11 that Xiamen, in Fujian Province, has to date seen over 1,700 Taiwan-invested enterprises established in the city, with contractual Taiwan investment of 3.5billion U.S. dollars and paid-in Taiwan capital of three billion U.S. dollars.
Su said that a special Taiwan information booth has been set up at the fair to promote trade and investment across the Taiwan Straits.
