Chinese Concerned About Internet Economy

Eighty-five of middle-income Chinese people are highly attentive to the development of the e- commerce, a recent survey has found.

The survey sampled 502 respondents in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou and found that 24.8 percent of them expressed keen interest in keeping update with development of the e-commerce. About 60.3 percent of them expressed interest about the new economy. Only 13.9 percent of them said they weren't interest at all.

The survey, conducted by the China Business Climate Monitoring Center, found that half of the respondents have surfed the Internet, while 70.5 percent logged on to obtain information, 25. 55 percent to receive education and 29.8 percent to communicate with others.

Some 20.9 percent surfed purely out of curiosity.
