When the Alexander Library of Egypt is nearing its completion the Chinese Government has on April 9 presented to it a batch of books, which are rich in contents and quite valuable for collection.
Printed in three scripts of Chinese, English and Arabic, a total of 556 sets of books in 703 volumes have been given as a gift to the library. With fine printing, beautiful mounting and rich contents, books such as "Encyclopedia of China", "General History of China", "Twenty-four Histories", "Lexicon of Celebrities", "Comprehensive Dictionary of Medicine" and the "Philosophical Works of Lao Zi" deal widely things about the Chinese history, geography, military, literature, philosophy, medicine and other cultural fields. Among these books, The "Handed-down Rare Books in China" is the most valuable one for collection, due to its limited number in publication of only 3000 sets on domestic market.
