Xie Forces Karpov for Second Draw in Cross-Sex Tournament

Chinese Xie forces Karpov into a draw in Cross-Sex Tournament
Women's world champion Xie Jun of China survived a midway mistake to force another draw with Russian great Anatoly Karpov in the second of a six-game unprecedented cross-sex chess tournament.

The two-time world champion Xie started with the white pieces and gave no chance to the seven-time men's world champion Karpov till her two bad moves in the midway of the game. But after 55 moves Xie managed a draw with the living legend Russian at the end of the game. "I've wasted last least three chances to win the game, " said the 49-year-old Karpov, who met strong relay from his much younger rival in later moves. For the first time in the chess' history, a women's world champion is challenging her men's counterpart, in the form of Russian grand master Karpov, who lost his world crown last year.
