Hong Kong and Macao Concerned for Taiwan

Newspapers in Macao and Hong Kong have been giving heavy coverage recently to separatists remarks made by Annette Lu. Some people have been responding by saying her remarks put a gloss on Japan's occupation of Taiwan, and hurt the Chinese.

Shi Ziqing, one of CPPCC member said:"Annette Lu and her friends forget their own origins. They are ignorant of the history of their own country and go to seek refuge with foreign forces."

Hong Kong and Macao residents say the remarks are dangerous and that the "One China" principle is something that will benefit all Chinese.

They also agree that Taiwan is a part of China and that, no matter who becomes the leader of Taiwan, this can never be changed. Those who go against the common interests of the people will certainly come to no good end.
