Fourteen noted Chinese academicians and specialists lately received a red letter of appointment from Hongchang Group in Shunde, Guangdong Province. Among the 14 Chinese scientists are Wang Fusong, Liu Hongliang, Tang Xiaoyan and Zhou Qifeng, 4 authorities from Academia Sinica and the Chinese Academy of Engineering in chemistry, materials and environment protection, along with Zeng Hanmin, superintendent of Material Science Research Institute of Zhongshan University and chief scientist of China "8.63 Project" in material science, to serve as science advisors of Hongchang. The others are 9 authoritative specialists known in coating field to serve as consulting experts of the group.
Hongchang Group was a privately own enterprise set up at the end of 1991, its products mainly include furniture paint and a variety of coatings of the decorative type. Through 8 years' development, the group has started from 5 staffers and 2 simple and crude sets of equipment to have become a "small giant" in China's coating industry with an asset over 100 million yuan, first in passing ISO9000 International Quality System Certification.
