China East-West Trade Fair Closes

The Fourth China East-West Cooperation and Investment Trade Fair closed on April 10 with total contractual trade volume topping 100 billion yuan.

Some 752 domestic cooperation contracts were signed, with total investment of 31.5 billion yuan, and 173 foreign investment projects were signed, with investment of 1.86 billion U.S. dollars. The trade fair was jointly sponsored by 19 provinces,

municipalities and autonomous regions including Jiangsu, Tianjin, and Guangdong, with the support of the State Economic and Trade Commission, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce of Macao.

Xi'an, the provincial capital city of Shaanxi Province in northwest China, will play host again of the 2001 China East-West Cooperation and Investment Trade Fair in April of next year.
