China to Send Large Delegation to Int'l Agro-Foodtech Expo

The Chinese Ministry of Agriculture will send a large delegation to the International Agro- Foodtech Exposition to be held in Beijing from April 11 to 14 to trade high-tech products and attract foreign investment, a ministry official said .

The delegation consists of China's top agricultural trade and research institutions including the ministry's Foreign Economic Cooperation Center, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Chinese University of Agriculture.

The Expo will showcase the most recent high-tech achievements and products from major Chinese agriculture research institutions and companies.

During the Expo, a seminar on major Chinese agricultural high- tech projects will be held to publicize information and serve as a bridge between traders and researchers.

Meanwhile, a high-profile seminar on China's agriculture will also be held with officials and experts from Chinese and foreign government departments as well as companies. The seminar will address such topics as China's agriculture after joining the World Trade Organization and the prospects of investment in China's agricultural sector.

The Agro-Foodtech Exposition is jointly sponsored by the Specialized Sub-Council of Agriculture under the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and a French exhibition company. More than 300 companies from 17 countries and regions will attend.
