China to Offer National Daily Report on Air Quality

China will issue a daily report on the air quality in 41 major cities from June 5 this year.

The State Environmental Protection Administration or SEPA has included 31 provincial capitals and 10 major costal cities on their daily report list.

A further six cities will be added to the list when the necessary facilities are installed.

The daily service is expected to help improve the awareness of the public about air pollution and other environmental issues, and involve them in efforts to promote environmental protection.

An environmental monitoring center under the SEPA currently provides a weekly report on the air quality in 46 major cities on the Chinese mainland.
