Hi-Tech Exports Show Good Momentum

China's exports of high-tech products during the first two months this year reached 3.95 billion U.S. dollars, a rise of 48.2 percent over the same period last year, and seven points higher than the average growth rate of the country's exports as a whole.

Thanks to a series of policies favoring high-tech product exports, these products accounted for 12.5 percent of all exports in the first two months.

Exports of computers and communications technologies topped 2.9 billion U.S. dollars, ranking first in terms of volume among high- tech exports, and electronic technology ranked second with 620 million U.S. dollars.

Exports of material technology showed the strongest momentum, rising 95.5 percent over the corresponding period of last year. In a related development, high-tech imports stood at 6.04 billion U.S. dollars for the first two months, a rise of 47.7 percent on a yearly-basis.
