Sun Wen Elected as '99 Asia's Best Woman Footballer

Ali Daei of Iran and Sun Wen of China were elected respectively as 1999 Asia's best man and woman footballers by the Asian Football Confederation in Beirut on April 6.
Kuwait's Bashar Abdullah and Japan's Hidetoshi Nakata also participated in the contest for the title.
Sun had the title of runner-up in the Women's World Cup competition and the champion of Asia. Chinese Women's Football Team won the titles of the Asian Team of the Year and the Asian Women's Team of the Year.
Other awards went to the Aisa Youth Player from Qatar, the Asia Youth Team from Japan, the Asia Coach from Uzbekistan, the Asia Club for Japan, the Asia Judge and the Asia Football Journalist respectively from Saudi Arabia and Lebanon .
