Beijingers Spend 20 Million Yuan on Pets Each Year

An increasing number of Beijing citizens have reared pets in recent years. Statistics show that Beijing locals spend about 20 million yuan on their pets each year.

According to statistics from relevant department, more than 60,000 cats and an equal number of dogs have been registered at the Beijing epidemic prevention department while at least 400,000 have not yet been registered. Personages concerned pointed out that if the monthly expenditure of each pet is 50 yuan, the Beijingers have to spend 20 million yuan on feeding pets.

At present, various pet commodity markets have a rich stock of food, fashions, beds and toys. There are even different types of shampoo for dogs.
