China Builds Film Center in Dr. Sun HometownA center for film and television programs making is approaching end in Cuiheng Village, hometown of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, after more than 13 months of intensive construction.Sun Yat-Sen (Sun Zhongshan) was born in Xiangshan (now Zhongshan), in south China's Guangdong Province, in November 1866. He died of illness in March 1925. Sun led the revolution which overthrew the Qing Dynasty, China's last feudal regime, in 1911. The project is jointly funded by four organizations: the China Central Television Station, Zhongshan City Tourism Bureau and China International Television Corporation at a cost of 10 million US dollars. The project is expected to be ready for business by the middle of this month. Covering an area of some 26.7 hectares, the center consists of distinctive theme parks featuring exotic landscapes from such countries as the United States and Britain. The center will form a large tourist attraction, along with other historical structures, including the residence of Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, old houses in Cuiheng Village and the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Middle School. It is learned that the shooting of a 20-part TV drama featuring the late leader of China's democratic revolution will start when the construction of the center is completed.
