China Improves Breast Cancer Detection

China has greatly enhanced the accuracy of detecting early-stage breast cancer. A new method developed recently by the Shanghai Dongfang Breast Disease Hospital uses digital positioning technology to detect tumors with diameters less than 0.5 millimeters.

The method also makes it possible to remove tiny tumors with the probing needle. In the early stage, some breast tumors are too small to be felt by hand, and x-ray films cannot show the precise position of such tumors.
