China Launches Export WebsiteA foreign trade website claiming to have the world's largest China products database was officially launched on March 31.Named Chinaproducts.com, the website was established by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Chinaproducts.com (Guangzhou) Ltd. Designed to facilitate China's foreign trade, the website is supported by a database which currently has information about 120,000 China manufacturers and more than 1 million exportable products. Luo Tao, chief executive officer for Chinaproducts.com, said the website will focus on providing foreign trade service for small and medium-sized enterprises in China. "These enterprises always lack effective channels to display their products to worldwide buyers," Luo said. The China Fair for Export Commodities, held annually in Guangzhou, has been a major channel for Chinese exporters to meet foreign buyers. But it has always been difficult for medium and small-sized enterprises to compete with large State firms for any of the 7,000 booths available on the fair.
