Central China's Henan Province has prepared over 500 projects to lure overseas investors during a three-day trade fair to be held next month. More than 130 out of the 500 projects were key projects of various fields, such as agriculture, light industry, transportation, coal, petro-chemicals, telecommunications, building materials, and environmental protection. Most of these projects were included in the inland province's 10th Five-Year Plan (2001-2005).
The fair, the largest of its kind in Henan, is jointly sponsored by the Henan Provincial Government and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The sponsors will offer a number of free stands for overseas investors willing to release information and look for partners in Henan.
More than 900 business people, both domestic and overseas, have registered to attend the fair, which is scheduled to be held during April 16-18.
Henan had approved more than 6,400 directly foreign-invested projects by the end of 1999 with contractual investment totaling 8. 6 billion US dollars.
