China-EU WTO Talks Positive: MOFTEC

China says the latest round of talks between China and the European Union concerning China's entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) concluded on Friday afternoon is "positive, constructive and fruitful."

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) said in a press release that the two sides made great efforts to bring about the result during the four-day talks between March 28 and 31.

"The talks are positive, constructive and fruitful, and both sides have made great efforts to bring about the result," said the release. "Both sides hope to reach agreement as soon as possible, and the negotiations will continue in the future."

MOFTEC Minister Shi Guangsheng welcomes Pascal Lamy, trade commissioner of the European Commission, to come back again to Beijing for more talks, it added.
