China Aquatic Products (Group) Corp. Gains Outstanding Achievements

The China Aquatic Products (Group) Corp. held a symposium in Beijing on March 28 to commemorate the 15th anniversary of its development. According to Liu Shenli, the general-manager, the corporation has earned a total of more than US$3 billion worth of foreign exchange in the past 15 years. Up to 1999, the total assets of the corporation had reached 7.3 billion yuan, an 8.5 fold increase over that in its founding year of 1985, and its net assets 2.9 billion yuan, 8.6 times the 1985 figure. In recent years, the Group Corp. has been listed in succession as one of the country's 100 pilot units to establish a modern enterprise system and one of the 120 experimental units to form large enterprises groups.
