Chinese Police Seize Amphetamines

Police in Xiamen, a booming coastal city in east China's Fujian Province, recently seized more than 650 MDMA tablets, an amphetamine drug. Also seized were 21 marijuana cigarettes and 15 grams of marijuana.

This is the largest ever drug trafficking case in this city, according to local police sources.

Police detained eight people involved in the case, including the drug dealer suspect Zhang Shiyang.

The drugs were found in Youfu Chengbao Night Club in Xiamen, and initial police investigation has revealed that they were smuggled here by Zhang from Shenzhen in neighboring Guangdong Province.

Police have already withdrawn the special business license of the club.

Chinese call MDMA the "shaking head pill" because it stimulates the nervous system, causing users to become sexually excited and to shake their heads violently.
