Chinese Vice Premier Meets US Guest

Chinese Vice Premier Li Lanqing met with U.S. Secretary of Education Richard Riley in Beijing Tuesday. Li and Riley exchanged views on the further promotion of Sino-US educational exchanges and cooperation, as well as other issues of common concern.

Chinese Education Minister Chen Zhili and US Ambassador to China Joseph Prueher was among those present at the meeting.

Chen and Riley signed here today the Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the United States of America for the Cooperation in Educational Exchanges on behalf of their governments.
