Chinese Premier Meets Delegates to CDF

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji met in Beijing Monday with a group of foreign entrepreneurs and economic experts who are attending the China Development Forum, headed by Maurice R. Greenberg, chairman of the board of directors of the American International Group.

The two sides exchanged views on several issues related to China's economic development.

The forum focused on the prospects for China's economic development to the year 2010, a topic of some significance, Zhu said, adding that he hoped more scholars and entrepreneurs would participate in the discussion.

Zhu also pledged that China will study the suggestions and ideas put forward during the forum.

Greenberg said the forum has been efficient in dealing with various issues, including the reform of state-owned enterprises and China's entry into the World Trade Organization.
