DPRK FM Starts Visit to Vietnam

Foreign Affairs Minister of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Paek Nam Sun arrived in Vietnam on March 25 afternoon for a three-day official visit. The visit, Paek Nam Sun's first to Vietnam and the third leg of his current Asian trip, is at the invitation of Vietnamese Foreign Minister Nguyen Dy Nien.

Soon after Paek Nam Sun's arrival, the two foreign ministers held talks, exchanging views on bilateral relations and international issues of mutual concern.

Nguyen Dy Nien described Paek Nam Sun's visit to Vietnam as an important event for both Vietnam and DPRK, saying the visit will further enhance the traditional relations between the two countries.

Vietnamese State President Tran Duc Luong is scheduled to meet Paek Nam Sun here later Saturday.

The DPRK foreign minister will leave the country next Monday. Before coming here, Paek Nam Sun visited China and Laos.
