China is collecting e-commerce solutions from small businesses to popularize the use of computers and the Internet. The project, called "e-2000", is sponsored by the China HP Co. Ltd, China Infoworld and the 263.capital on-line net. The project will last through the end of May, and firms joining the project are asked to provide on-line solutions for marketing, sales and clients. Small businesses, with a scarcity of funds and professionals, lag behind in the process of utilizing advanced computer technology. China now has 10 million small businesses, accounting for 99 percent of the country's total enterprises. The Ministry of the Information Industry has made the promotion of e-commerce the key to the informationization of firms, and plans to provide support in policy, funds and technology. |
