Northeast China City Airport Resumes Operation

The International Airport in Shenyang, northeast China, resumed operation Sunday morning after being closed for 20 hours due to heavy snow. The snow started at midday Saturday and last for seven hours. The visibility was only 200 meters.

The airport was forced to close Saturday afternoon out of safety consideration, which made 23 flights delayed.

However expressways in the city remained unaffected. No major road accidents have been reported.

As a major hub of air transportation in northeast China, Taoxian International Airport has been closed several times this year due to the frequent snowfall in the region.
