China Plans to Export More Planes

The China Aviation Industry Corporation II plans to turn to exports to increase its sales and development.

One of China's ten leading industry enterprises, the company mainly produces aircraft, mini-vans and motorcycles. Though it has sold its aircraft to Sudan, Pakistan, Canada, the United States and some other countries, exports account for less than ten percent of total sales currently.

It recognizes no aircraft manufacturer can survive competition by depending solely on its domestic market. The company plans to cooperate with China National Aero- Technology Import and Export Corporation to develop new aircraft models which can meet the needs of international market.

The aircraft maker expects to sell 200 aircraft overseas within five years.
