In implementing the spirit of doing on-the-spot official business advocated by Guangdong Provincial Party committee and government, Zhanjiang City has speeded up the pace of diverting water to overcome drought in Leizhou Peninsula and establishing South Asian tropical agriculture demonstration zones, with notable results. By the end of February, the city has invested 169.22 million yuan in building 78 anti-drought projects, sinking 101 large and 6576 small, motor-pumped wells, and 18 conical pan-shaped wells. It has newly added more than 100,000 mu of irrigated areas and restored and improved over 130,000 mu of irrigated land. Printer-friendly Version In This SectionBack to top |
