FM Spokesman: 'One China' Principle Not to Be Compromised

The Chinese government will absolutely not compromise on the "one China" principle concerning the Taiwan issue, according to foreign ministry spokesman Sun Yuxi.

Sun made the remarks on Thursday at a regular press conference in response to a relevant question.

He said that the "one China" principle is the core of the mainland's position on the Taiwan issue, adding that the central government pursues the policy of "peaceful reunification, and one country, two systems" to solve the Taiwan issue.

But there will be no compromise on the "one China" principle on the Taiwan issue, he stressed.
