Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Tung Chee Hwa will visit Canada and the United States early next month to reinforce the close economic and business ties with the two major trading partners, a Hong Kong government spokesman announced Thursday.

Tung will be in Toronto and Ottawa from April 1 to 4, and in New York and Washington DC from April 5 to 7, according to the spokesman.

Tung's itinerary in Canada will include political calls, meetings with Canadian financial and business sectors, and visits to a

Telecom company and see hi-tech developments in Canada. In the United States, Tung will meet government and business
