Studying for MA Degree at Online University

Can one study at Tsinghua University without taking exams or being released from regular work? The dream for this has come true following the opening of an online university-the China On-line University, jointly set up by Beijing Science and Technology Commission Information Center, Tsinghua University, Beijing Medical University and other famous universities and colleges.

Only in two days after the sign-up work started for the first term of computer applied technology specialty, a curriculum for post-graduate students, more than 20 persons were registered.

All the courses of the online university will be taught through the internet. Discussions, questions and answers are to be conducted through the real-time or non-real time network exchange system; Homework will be handed in by e-mail. Online university has its advantages in breaking the restriction of time and space, providing great conveniences for in-service scientific and technological personnel to receive advanced education. Students have to pass formal examinations after finishing all of the courses before they can get the relevant certificates or diploma.

According to Beijing Science and Technology Commission Information Center, they are busily discussing the possibility of cooperation with Renmin University and Peking University, striving to make China University Online a large educational platform for higher education.
