Yang Yang (A), who is now bidding for her fourth consecutive overall title at the championships, finished first in the women's discipline with a time of one minute 40.363 seconds. Her teammate Yang Yang (S), from Changchun, Northeast China, was second at 1:40.683 with South Korean Joo Min-jin third at 1:40. 742 Bulgarian Evgenia Radanova, a strong contender for the overall gold, did not make finals in the distance. While in the men's event, China's all-around title defender Li Jiajun clocked one minute 31.098 seconds to end up first.
