The Third Session of the Ninth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference concluded in Beijing on the afternoon of March 11.

Addressing the closing meeting, CPPCC Chairman Li Renhuan pointed out that as a multi-party co-operation and political advisory body under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party, the CPPCC should continue to do its share in maintaining social stability and promoting democracy.

Li Reihuan stressed that unity and democracy are the themes for CPPCC work. With the furthering of China's reform and opening-up, the country's economic structure and social relations are undergoing changes. Under this circumstance, unity and stability are needed to ensure the country's development.
