The preparatory meeting of the Third Session of the Ninth National People's Congress (NPC), which was held in Beijing Saturday, passed the proposed agenda for the annual session due to open tomorrow.

The agenda includes:

-- hearing and examining the government work report;

-- hearing and examining the implementation of 1999 plan for economic and social development and ratifying the draft economic and social development plan for 2000;

-- hearing and examining the execution of national and local budgets for 1999 and national and local budgets draft proposed for 2000, and ratifying the national budget plan for 2000;

-- hearing and examining work reports by the NPC Standing Committee, the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate.

-- reviewing the draft Law on Legislation.
