Stamps on HK's Cultural Development to be Issued

Hong Kong will issue Sunday its first set of triangular special stamps to highlight Hong Kong's cultural development, Postmaster General Luk Ping-chuen announced Friday.

These special stamps commemorate the opening of four new cultural venues, namely Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Central Library, Hong Kong Museum of History and Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defense.

This set of special stamps comprises four stamp denominations: 1.30 HK dollars; 2.50 dollars; 3.10 dollars and 5 dollars. The background of their designs depict four Chinese characters representing the "culture", "book", "history" and "sea" of the respective theme of the cultural venues.

Other associated philatelic products to be issued with the new stamps include a mini pane at 47.6 HK dollars each and a presentation pack containing four stamps at 20 HK dollars each.
