Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhu Bangzao said in Beijing Thursday that Russian Deputy Prime Minister Ilya Klebanov's current official visit would further boost the strategic partnership of cooperation between China and Russia. Klebanov arrived in Beijing earlier Thursday for a three day visit at the invitation of the Chinese government. According to the spokesman, Klebanov will meet with Chinese leaders and hold talks with State Councilor Wu Yi on bilateral cooperation in various fields. Zhu said at the regular press conference that China and Russia have recently made frequent exchanges of high-level visits. The strategic partnership of cooperation between China and Russia keeps moving forward, Zhu said, stressing such a relationship is based on the five principles of peaceful co- existence and universally recognized norms of the international law. The relationship, which is characterized by non-confrontation, non-alignment, and not targeting at a third country, accords with the fundamental interests of both countries and promotes peace and international cooperation, he said. |
