Chinese leader Hu Jintao said Wednesday that the country's leading officials should further carry forward the good Marxist study style of combining theory with practice. Hu, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remark while attending the opening ceremony of a new semester of the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, of which he is also the president. Hu also noted that leading officials should enhance their studies of Marxism, Mao Zedong Thought, and Deng Xiaoping Theory. "At present, it is particularly important to combine the study of Marxist theory with Comrade Jiang Zemin's important speech on the 'Three Emphases,'" Hu said. The "Three Emphases" refers to strengthening theoretical study, political awareness, and good conduct. Jiang's speech is of great importance as a guide to building the Party and realizing the country's cross-century development goals, Hu said. The Chinese leader asked the Party School students to put more emphasis on this speech, grasp its essence, and gain a correct understanding of the law and features of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. Hu also expressed the hope that the students will study the new situation and new tasks facing the country, and enhance their theoretical knowledge in order to do a better job for the country's reform, development, and stability. |
