Inspection of Household Appliance Exports Tightens

China's Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, State Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection (SAIQ) and General Administration of Customs have jointly issued a circular calling for concerted efforts to tighten the inspection of small household electrical appliances for export.

Exports of the small electrical appliances are found in markets around the world and have increased on an year-to-year basis.

Accidents caused by electrical household appliances such as dish washers, vacuum cleaners, blenders, juice extractors and automatic shavers have seriously damaged the credibility of Chinese products.

Customs bureaus will strictly follow inspection procedures set out by the SAIQ. Only products that have been officially endorsed by the SAIQ will be exported, according to the circular
