On February 28, Shanghai canvassed from society various plans for pollution control, environment-protection technology as well as products and equipment in the hope to raise the investment returns and ensure fulfillment of key pollution-control targets in 111 enterprises.

It is reported that in the three years to come, Shanghai will invest tens of billions of yuan in all kinds of pollution control to improve the environment.

The contents collected from society include pollution control and optimization of the environment achieved by the Wujing Industrial District through the comprehensive utilization of resources, and four other formulas; nine projects including optimization of the energy structure; technological products and equipment.

In light of the different contents collected, Shanghai Economic Commission will set up an archive base for environment-protection enterprises, development organization as well as technology, product and advanced process and build information networks concerning the supply and demand of environment-protection equipment to release regular information about the demand for environment-protection products. At present, the information network of Shanghai Economic Commission (www.shec.gov.cn) has opened a special column, "Industrial Environment-protection and Environment-protection Industry" to collect plans from the society.
