Taiwan Claims 800 Newborns a Day in January

Sources say altogether 24,000 babies were born in Taiwan January, averaging 800 newborns a day to show a 10% increase over the same period of last year.

According to statistics released, Taiwan's birth rate has long been placed at a high level from March to May every year and towards the end of a year. January is just the time with a low birth rate of babies in Taiwan..

Analyses show that prompted by the "new millenium" for a "dragon son" concept a baby boon to as many as 340,000 newborns a year, up a 17% over last year, registering a record high growth rate of the population over the years, will be expected in Taiwan this year.
