CPPCC National Committee to Hold Annual Meeting

The National Committee of the Ninth Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) will hold its third annual meeting on March 3, the CPPCC Standing Committee announced Sunday.

The committee decided at its 8th meeting here in Beijing that the third annual meeting of the Ninth CPPCC National Committee will hear and examine the work report by the Standing Committee of the Ninth CPPCC National Committee and draft amendments to the CPPCC Constitution according to the decision on the Amendments to the Constitution of the People's Republic of China, which were made at the 2nd Session of the Ninth National People's Congress Standing Committee.

A 11-member panel led by Ye Xuanping, Vice-Chairman of the Ninth CPPCC National Committee, will be responsible for the amendments to the CPPCC Constitution at the coming third annual meeting.

Li Ruihuan, CPPCC National Committee Chairman and a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, attended today's meeting.
