New Weapon System Developed in China

China has developed a new weapon system which will increase its army's combating capabilities. Cao Gangchuan, a member of the Central Military Commission and director of the General Armament Department of the Chinese People' s Liberation Army, made the remarks on February 25 at a ceremony to launch a book titled "Developing the Army With Science and Technology".

In his speech, the director said that China's defense has made enormous progress under the the leadership of the Communist Party of China, the State Council and the CMC.

China's arms industry initially imitated foreign weapons, but now produces its own arms.
