China is concerned about reports that the Japanese government will allow the Dalai Lama to go to Japan for a visit, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhu Bangzao at a regular press conference Beijing Thursday afternoon.

"The Dalai Lama is a political exile under the disguise of religion, who has been engaged in long-term separatist activities, " the spokesman pointed out.

China solemnly urges the Japanese government to honor its commitments it has made so far and do not let the Dalai Lama enter Japanese territory so as to avoid disturbances to bilateral relations, Zhu said
