China to Use Online Visa Application System

The online visa application system developed by Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE) will put to use on March 1. As long as a user can go online, he may directly fill in his visa application form, revise it, go in for online search or entrust transaction business on the net.

The system, developed by the CSCSE affiliated to the Ministry of Education, is designed to expediting the process of visa application for an individual or a collective going on business or mission abroad. Having been accepted by different foreign embassies stationed in China, after being put to trial use in 18 Chinese provinces, autonomous regions and cities, the system will then be introduced all over China in the second half of this year. It will have its agencies associated with various related local departments under the State Commission of Education in China.

The center will also provide services as online educational background evaluation and research fund application for overseas Chinese students back home and online application service for foreigners wishing to study in China.
