German Insurer Pledges Support to Insurance Education

Gerling Insurance, one of the largest insurance firms in Germany and a major player in global credit insurance market, has pledged further support to China's insurance education this year.

Gerling's chief representative in Beijing, Carl-Ludwig Dorwald, made the pledge Monday.

Since it set up its Beijing representative office in Beijing five years ago, Gerling has sponsored various training programs for Chinese professionals both in China and overseas, as well as symposiums and forums on insurance.

The company is now waiting for Chinese authorities to approve the establishment of a branch office in China, according to sources from the Beijing representative office.
