Chinese Scientists First Probed Deep Into an Ice Crack in South Polar

Chinese scientists, who are undertaking comprehensive researches on the Grove Mountain in the South Polar Area, have recently conducted successful survey into an ice crack.

According to news from the State Bureau of Oceanology, after completing most of the research task, the China Research Team carried out in February 10 investigations inside a two-meter wide 20-meter long ice crack.

The research members collected some samples of blue ice from different places and at different depths. The samples will be brought back to China for further research with other samples about geology, snow and ice collected in the Grove Mountain area.
