China Archeology Golden Age Exhibition, which was opened in Washington between September 14, 1999 and January 2, 2000, has won high acclaim for furthering among the American people a deepening of understanding of China and the Chinese culture in the US. Zheng Xinmiao, vice director of State Council Relics Bureau, said that cultural relics exhibitions have been major means to promote cultural exchanges between China and the US since the first Chinese cultural relics exhibition held in 1974. China Archeology Golden Age Exhibition is one of the most important exhibitions that has put on display a choice selection of 234 pieces of cultural relics from across China. It provides visitors with a profound colorful annotation to and wide vistas into the 5000 years of Chinese history and its civilization. |
