A total of 16 pieces of Japanese military equipment collected by a Tianjin citizen was revealed on February 1 to document the truth about Japan's invasion of China. The collection offered by Lu Shikui, a worker in Tianjin, includes some overcoats, gloves and military swords used by Japanese military officers, a set of gas masks, several military caps, and other battlefield artifacts. These items were collected in northeast China, where the Japanese Army had its headquarters in the 1930s and 1940s. Lu's collection has brought attention from a local committee which will hold a special exhibition for him soon. Lu also has some pictures and written materials revealing Japan's invasion of China after 1931, when Japan first bombed China's Southern Manchuria Railroad near Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, and from there radiated out to invade all of the country. Lu is now busy organizing his collection for the exhibition, which he hopes will inform people about China's history during the invasion. |
