An agreement signed by Brazil and China concerning the entry of the Asian country to the World Trade Organization (WTO) will promote exchanges between both nations, said the general director of the Economy Department of Brazil's Foreign Ministry, ambassador Valdemar Carneiro Leao. This diplomat, quoted Monday by the "Gazeta Mercantil" daily, indicated China's entrance to the WTO will have important repercussions not only for world trade, but also for the organization's political scheme. "We have a strategic association with China, and this agreement shows we're among the country's main suppliers," he added. This accord, signed last Friday by both countries in Geneva, established a tariff reduction to Brazilian exports of 23 agriculture and industrial products with greater potential on China's market, like soy oil, coffee, orange juice and car parts.
