A publishing house in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region will publish this year two volumes of an encyclopedia of Mongolian studies in both Chinese and Mongolian. The 20-volume, six-million word encyclopedia includes 40,000 entries and 10,000 photographs covering medical science, literature, culture, language, economic development, science and technology, and the lives of the Mongolian people. Editors of the Scientific and Technological Publishing House of Inner Mongolia initiated the project 12 years ago, and the final compilation will be completed by the year 2005. According to an editor, this encyclopedia will be a valuable record for the domestic and international study of the Mongolian people's history, culture, science and language, among others. |
