The Ministry of Education issued a notice asking departments and local governments to help college graduates find jobs on January 19.

China is to have over one million college graduates this year, who will likely face difficulties getting employment.

The notice called college graduates the country's "treasure," saying they will make important contributions to economic development and social stability -- if they get good jobs.

"Local governments should expand the employment channels for these college graduates, and at the same time, optimizing the current employees structure," says the notice.

MOE plans to establish a complete employment bureau for college graduates in a couple of years, and to deepen reforms in the employment system for college graduates.

MOE is now establishing a job information network for college graduates, which offers details about job opportunities.
