Flower Exposition Held in East China

A flower exposition opened on January 8 in Zhangzhou, a coastal city in east China's Fujian Province, drawing more than 10,000 visitors and flower dealers from both home and overseas.

The exposition is jointly organized by flower business people from both sides of the Taiwan Straits.

Zhangzhou, known as China's "hometown of flowers", had 3,300 hectares planted with flowers by the end of last year and earned 800 million yuan( 96 million US dollars) from the business.

As a neighbor city of Taiwan, Zhangzhou has also attracted many Taiwan businessmen to invest in flower-related enterprises in the city.

Over 800 flower enterprises are displaying their products at the 400,000-square-meter exposition site, with Taiwan dealers taking some 100 booths.
